Subject: I can’t believe this is happening!

Momma might not be released! What is going on? I wrote her the letter you asked me to. I didn’t want to. I scolded Momma. I told her not to mess up again. Now something has happened! It’s all my fault.

I wish I hadn’t worried. It’s worth the risk to be back with Momma. It would stink if she messed up again. But even if she did, wouldn’t we rather be with her? I would.

I admit it. I like my foster keepers. I actually love them, Victor. Very much.

I know you wanted me to call them keepers. To never forget that they are not my real parents. That they are just here to “keep” us safe. To keep us until Momma is released. But Susan and John feel like parents to me. Not my real parents. No one can be like Momma. Or like Dad. But Susan and John come close. They’ve been good to me.

I know it’s been hard for you. I understand your foster parents are just your keepers. I don’t know which one was worse. Ms. Cookie Cutter was pretty bad. But so was the one with all the kids. Your current foster home would be good if your keepers weren’t aliens.

Momma said once, “When it rains, it pours.”
